Good day vicarious travellers!
Today we left our camp for the past 4 days at BWSP and headed farther west down Rt 40 to our next stop at Petrified Forest National Park. We are going to try doing some hiking off the roadway today even though its 100 degrees and the clouds are few and far between.
Till later,

Petrified Forest!?!?! I'd be "petrified " to go there. Sounds scary! Can't wait to see what it looks like, I've never seen it, but I have heard of it. 100*? (there's no degree symbol on my keyboard!) I'm sure you know to carry plenty of water & wet bandana's for your neck - maybe even a wet hat! I know, I know...you guys don't need Moms to tell you what to do, especially after ALL the traveling you have done so far! I guess it just makes ME feel better. Have a great hike & rest when you need to...there I go again. Not going to mention to bring snacks...oopppsss, I just did! hahaha ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!!! Good night for now,my little Arizona babies...

Oh it was so cool, you can see the rings in the trees, and even the knots! I'll get pics up and give a full history and explanation of how these ancient trees were petrified. Sadly even the massive amounts of water, hats and bandannas (yup we brought all three!) weren't enough to stave of the heat for me. :( Still, what an amazing place! Hopefully we'll have a chance to go back and explore more when it's cooler.
